Summary

Chief HVAC Engineer and BIM Coordinator with 20+ years of hands-on design and site experience in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems — from single residences to the Gazprom Headquarters multifunctional complex in Minsk (8.27 ha, 250,000+ m², 20+ engineering disciplines coordinated on a federated BIM model). I have worked every side of the table: designer, chief specialist, client-side technical lead, peer reviewer, and BIM coordinator.

My mission is to deliver projects that balance the client’s wishes, energy-saving technology, and a disciplined price / quality trade-off. The last decade has combined traditional HVAC engineering with BIM coordination and Dynamo / Python automation, and I am now extending that combination into AI-assisted BIM workflows — the emerging “BIM + AI” and “BIM + Python for HVAC” space.

What I bring

  • Full HVAC design lifecycle: concept → calculations → drawings → specifications → cost estimate → site supervision → commissioning
  • Peer review and code-compliance QC of contractor and consultant drawings
  • Energy audits of existing systems with documented savings recommendations
  • BIM coordination across 20+ disciplines on federated Revit models
  • Revit API / Dynamo / Python automation — up to 80% reduction in repetitive modeling tasks
  • Client-facing technical leadership in Russian and English
  • Mentoring and team leadership of junior MEP engineers

BIM + AI and BIM + Python for HVAC

Beyond traditional HVAC design and BIM coordination, I actively develop in the emerging intersection of digital engineering, Python automation, and AI for MEP / HVAC workflows — a niche where few practicing HVAC engineers can credibly operate.

BIM + Python for HVAC — already in production use on my projects:

  • Dynamo + Python (Revit API) automation of HVAC schedules, equipment lists, and duct / pipe parameter propagation
  • Automated clash-report generation and routing to discipline owners
  • Model QA scripts: checks for missing parameters, orphaned families, coordinate drift
  • Bulk family creation and library management via scripted workflows
  • Export of HVAC calculation inputs from Revit to external load-calculation tools and back

BIM + AI — active development direction:

  • AI-assisted clash triage — using LLMs to classify, cluster, and prioritize Navisworks clash reports so engineers spend time on real issues, not duplicates
  • LLM-generated HVAC specifications — turning design intent notes into draft specification text, with human review as the final step
  • Vector search over project archives — semantic search across years of HVAC drawings, specs, and calculations to accelerate peer review and precedent lookup
  • Code-compliance copilots — LLMs assisting with SNiP / ASHRAE / local code lookup and cross-referencing during design review
  • Python + local LLM inference for confidential project environments where cloud AI is not permitted

This places me in a rare blue-ocean profile: a chief HVAC engineer with 20+ years of project delivery and a working, hands-on stack for BIM automation and AI assistance. Most BIM-AI tooling today is built by software developers without domain engineering experience, and most HVAC engineers do not code. I do both.

Target roles

  • BIM Manager / BIM Coordinator for HVAC-heavy projects (data centers, hospitals, high-rises)
  • Digital Engineering Lead inside an MEP / AEC firm building Revit-API tooling
  • HVAC Engineer + BIM Automation hybrid role on a flagship project
  • Consultant for BIM + AI adoption inside HVAC design offices
  • R&D or product role at a BIM-AI / construction-tech startup needing genuine HVAC domain authority

Education

Engineer’s Degree · Energy Construction / HVAC Engineering Technical University · 2000 – 2005

Five-year engineering degree in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, building services, and energy systems for civil construction.
